Went to Ben Franklin, er... Lovin Oven for Cakery breakfast this morn to investigate a rumor that the best Biscuits and Gravy in town was hiding out with-in. First things first, Shared the 'special' Creme brulee Long John with the Wifie and it was WONDERFUL. Missy and I were magically transported to one of our favorite resorts at Disney World thanks to that crunchy, caramel outside and rich, creamy custard inside. Only really Great food does that. We spoke of Disney and basked in the glow of a truly delicious treat for several minutes. Then the rest of the meal came... The Breakfast Sandwich was "just Okay"... way too much egg and not enough bacon according to the boss (Missy). I Loved/Hate the B&G. Biscuit was, of course, perfect and the Gravy was LADEN with sausage bits. Sausage EVERYWHERE! Which was yummy but the spice was a ridiculous 4.5 out of 5. I love spice but this was a whole new level. The fella making the food did warn me about the heat level, which was good of him to do so! I am a Cholula man so I didn't think I would have a problem...OH but Sweet Neely did I. On the way out, I had to grab some insanely good donuts for Sunday Morning. Overall good time. Thanks Lovin Oven for the quick trip to Florida. Keep up the good work.
